About tactica. Journal

tactica. Journal is the public record of building tactica., a football intelligence platform built around evidence, transparency and accountability.

We're documenting the process properly; what we build, what we discover, what our audits uncover, what goes wrong, what gets fixed, and what the evidence sometimes tells us not to change.

Football prediction is full of certainty after the event. Winning screenshots are easy to publish. Losing decisions are easier to forget.

We're interested in something harder: showing the whole record.

That means writing about good results and bad ones. Model decisions and model mistakes. Product breakthroughs and abandoned ideas. Evidence that changes our thinking and evidence that isn't strong enough to.

We won't publish something simply because we worked on it. The Journal exists for the parts of the journey worth understanding.

How we think

tactica. follows a simple discipline:

Reality → Evidence → Reasoning → Decision → Outcome → Accountability

The Journal follows the same one.

Profit does not automatically prove that a model is healthy. A period of losses does not automatically prove that it is broken. We want the evidence between those two conclusions.

Evidence earns change.

Stories from inside the development of tactica.: how the football intelligence works, what our audits uncover, what actual results teach us, and why we make particular product and model decisions.

Some will be successes.

Some won't.

Both belong here.
